Mike Burch Joins CCIG’s Employee Benefits Division

November 7, 2019

ENGLEWOOD, COLO. –  CCIG, one of the nation’s leading independent insurance brokerages, has expanded its Employee Benefits division, bringing on Mike Burch as VP and Insurance Advisor.

Burch, formerly a vice president with the insurance unit at BOK Financial, brings nearly a decade of insurance industry experience to CCIG’s fast-growing benefits team.

“We are very excited to have Mike join our team.  His experience and passionate community presence will help fuel our continued growth,” CCIG Benefits Executive Vice President John Kirke said.

Burch, who will primarily be responsible for developing new client relationships, notes that benefits are a critical piece of the employee compensation package and are often the second-largest expense for companies after wages. “Healthcare is complicated, even cumbersome, so squandering money unnecessarily suggests something is amiss. Thoughtful and meaningful planning are paramount to winning in healthcare,” he said.

In other parts of his career, Burch served as the chief fundraiser for ACE Scholarships, a Denver organization that provides scholarships to help low-income K-12 children access the school of their choice. He also spent six years as a minister at Bear Creek Church in Lakewood.

A Colorado State University graduate, Burch also served as chairman of the Big Idea Project, a nonprofit dedicated to improving education and developing our nation’s future leaders as well as a board director of Save Our Youth, a cause dedicated to mentoring underserved kids.

Burch and his wife and their six children – three girls, three boys – live in Highlands Ranch.

Founded in 1985, CCIG has doubled its workforce in the past five years, growing at an average rate of 15% a year and employs 95 insurance professionals.

CCIG has won repeated Best Places to Work and Top Workplace awards and has been repeatedly recognized as a Best Practices Agency by the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America.
