CEO Brook Mahoney helped build a Habitat Denver home in the Sable Ridge townhome development near Denver International Airport, and was honored to present the key to that home on Dec. 8 to Jemila Adam and Mukhtar-Tahir Jimjimo and their children.
The family was living in a tiny, rented house with mold and insect problems, so was excited and grateful for their new home, saying “thank you” to everyone involved several times during the ceremony.
“We will finally have the opportunity to save money for our kids’ college education and there will be no more stressing about rent renewals or moving from place to place. We are excited to have a house that we can say is ours,” they said.
Brook joined other metro Denver leaders—including Denver Broncos CEO Joe Ellis—on Oct. 15 for Habitat Denver’s “CEO Build” at the development in northeast Denver.
The 40 C-Suite executives donned hard hats and hammers to help on the build with Ellis, who co-hosted the event with Habitat for Humanity. Mahoney and the other CEOs in attendance comprised the Broncos’ corporate andcommunity sponsors.
