GREENWOOD VILLAGE, COLO., April 10, 2017 – CCIG, one of the largest and fastest-growing independent commercial and personal insurance brokerages in Colorado, has made it onto the Denver Post’s 2017 Top Workplaces list.
The Top Workplaces rankings are based on what employees say about their employers in a WorkplaceDynamics survey. WorkplaceDynamics, an employee survey firm, said a company’s “alignment” is vital to a healthy workplace, meaning where it’s headed, its values and cooperation among team members. Also critical is employees’ sense of “connection,” their feelings of appreciation and the meaningfulness of their work.
CCIG did better than the average insurance industry benchmark group on all of the questions that serve as the basis for its alignment score, including a question on its values and ethics.
CCIG hires for the long term and has one of the best employee retention records in its industry.
“We hire individuals who want a career in our industry, versus looking for another job,” CCIG President and COO T. Scott Kennedy said. “We take a long-term view of every employment relationship.”
The firm’s culture emphasizes career development and mentorship of new employees. CCIG also provides its employees with a robust benefits package, offers tuition reimbursement, hosts an annual incentive trip for its top performers and their spouses, and covers half of the cost of its employees’ health club membership.
CCIG also has launched an Emerging Leadership Development Program, a two-year program to better equip its future leaders with the skills necessary to protect its culture and reputation as it grows.
The Top Workplaces rankings are divided into large (more than 500 local employees), midsize (150-499 local employees) and small (fewer than 150 local employees) categories.
Founded in Greenwood Village, Colo., in 1985, CCIG has won repeated recognition as one of the nation’s leading independent insurance brokers. The firm offers personal and commercial property and casualty insurance, as well as risk engineering services and health benefit plans for employers.
