Brook Mahoney, CPCU, ARM, Founder and CEO
Brook Mahoney founded the company in 1985 with the purpose of delivering exceptional client risk management services—beyond just the ordinary insurance coverage. CCIG’s ability to deliver risk assessment, risk management, loss control and claims advocacy has led to its success and growth in the insurance marketplace.
Brook received his bachelor’s degree in Insurance and Marketing from the University of Iowa and holds advanced learning designations including the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Liability Underwriter, Associate Risk Manager, and Certified Insurance Counselor. Brook is a Past-President of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Colorado and currently serves on a number of community boards, insurance industry boards, and corporate advisory groups.
T. Scott Kennedy, CRM, CIC, President and COO
With CCIG since 2004, Scott’s record of successful leadership and talent development helped build CCIG into a premier insurance brokerage. Scott attributes CCIG’s significant growth to a “team approach in crafting comprehensive risk management and insurance solutions to very sophisticated client needs across the globe.”
Valued relationships at every level are critical elements of CCIG’s success, and Scott has forged deep relationships with CCIG’s insurance carrier partners, clients, the local community and staff.
A Colorado Mesa University graduate, Scott has earned his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Management (CRM) designations, and completed executive leadership courses with The Center for Creative Leadership and Wharton’s Business School. He has served on numerous civic boards and insurance carrier advisory councils including Special Olympics of Colorado and the Marsh Berry Agent’s Advisory Council. Scott also is a graduate of The Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce’s leadership development class, LD-16.
Scott enjoys golf, cycling, sailing and many outdoor activities in the Rockies. He has earned a sailing captain’s license, frequently sailing in the Caribbean, and serves on the Board of Directors for Columbine Country Club, where he and his wife, Debbie reside.
Carolyn Evans, CIC, Executive VP, Client Services Officer
Carolyn Evans has more than 25 years of insurance experience with specialization in operations management on the carrier and broker side of the industry. She has worked with the Colorado Division of Insurance as an insurance analyst and hearing officer, as well as working in client service management positions with major insurance companies and brokers.
Carolyn takes pride in developing CCIG’s staff of professionals, fostering client relations, and establishing quality management systems and processes to ensure our clients receive the professional and confidential service they expect and deserve.
After attending Colorado State University, Carolyn earned her designation as a Certified Insurance Counselor and is currently pursuing the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation. She has served as a member of several insurance carrier advisory councils and gives back to the community through her involvement in Junior Achievement.
Jacob Cook, Chief Financial Officer
Jacob Cook joined CCIG in 2015 with nearly 20 years of accounting experience, including eight years in the banking industry with both privately and publicly held institutions in Denver.
His past roles included serving as controller for a privately owned real investment group investing and managing properties in a number of states. Jacob also served as controller for a real estate lender providing financing to investments across the U.S.
A 1998 graduate with a degree in economics from the University of Wyoming, Jacob and his family enjoy the great outdoors. His primary love is boating and water-skiing. Jacob also is a licensed coach in youth soccer and basketball.
Andrew Mahoney, RPLU, CIC, Executive VP
As CCIG’s Executive Vice President, Andrew Mahoney is responsible for driving CCIG’s commercial sales growth strategies and enhancing the firm’s client-service offerings.
Andrew began his career as a professional and management liability wholesale commercial broker in one of the world’s largest brokerage firms. From there, he built an extensive background in underwriting as a commercial middle-market underwriter in Chicago.
He is a graduate of Virginia’s Hampden-Sydney College and holds professional industry designations as a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) and a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Andrew also serves on the board of the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative, which helps build trails and sponsors terrain restoration projects in Colorado’s 54 14,000-foot peaks.
